On Friday, 22nd October 2021, the Az-Zahra Women’s College was formally inaugurated in the Daruz Zahra premises in Alipur. The event was attended by dignitaries from various organisations, including the National College Principal Dr. PandoRanga Naik, Imame Juma H.I Maulana Mahfooz Raza, and members of the Anjumane Jafaria, Daruz Zahra Trust, Al-Abbas Trust, AEC Adhoc Committee, and the Managements of Alipur Schools.
The much-awaited and much-needed Az-Zahra Women’s College was finally inaugurated after years of planning and efforts from the newly formed AEC under the guidance of Sarparate Aala H.I Maulana Zaki Baqri Saheb Qibla. The project aims to provide higher education opportunities to women in Alipur, and so far, 38 students have taken admission at Az-Zahra. This enthusiastic response from girls in the beginning shows that there is a huge prospect of growth and further development.
The event started with Qiraat & Naat by the 1st year BA Students, followed by the welcome address and AEC report by Dr. Ahmed Abbas, AEC Convener. The entire program was diligently anchored by Dr. Nakeer Raza. National College Principal Dr. Naik & Vice Principal Dr.Suresh enthralled the students with their lively talks on Education & praised AEC for taking such a great initiative. They informed that National College is planning to start online coaching classes for competitive exams, especially UPSC, and if successful, coaching will also be given to the students at Az-Zahra.
Mrs. Moqlis Fathima addressed the students with her encouraging words about the importance of competitive exams, and a formal vote of thanks was delivered by Er Tasudaq. Maulana Mahfooz Raza concluded the program with dua, and finally, everyone stood for the national anthem.
The Az-Zahra Women’s College has been a long-awaited dream for many women in Alipur who have had limited opportunities to pursue higher education. The establishment of the college will provide them with a platform to explore their academic interests and build a career of their choice. The college will not only empower women but also contribute to the development of the entire community.
The hard work and sheer determination of the AEC team have paid off, and their efforts have resulted in the establishment of the Az-Zahra Women’s College. It is hoped that this college will inspire more initiatives that promote education and empowerment in Alipur, making it a beacon of progress and development in the region.
